The 2009 DOMAINfest Global conference is being held at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, California.

ICANN – Application Round Opens for Sydney Meeting Fellowships
Posted on January 31st, 2009 No commentsMARINA DEL REY, Calif.: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has launched the seventh round of fellowship program applications for its 35th International Public Meeting to be held in Sydney, Australia from 21-26 June 2009.
Just like the Internet, ICANN is global in scope in its operations, said Theresa Swinehart , ICANN’s Vice President, Global and Strategic Partnerships. “Our fellowship program has had a lot of success at our last five meetings in making sure global voices are heard in the wide variety of public forums that it holds.”

Journey to DomainFest
Posted on January 31st, 2009 No commentsSo here I am once again at thirty thousand feet winging my way across the Pacific Ocean to a domain conference in the USA. You would think that I would be sick of the fifteen hour flights by now and you would be right. All international flights from Australia are typically an endurance affair but then again it’s the price you have to pay for living in such a magnificent country.
One of the really nice parts of this flight is that I’m on one of the new A380 aircraft. They are the world’s largest passenger aircraft and like a brand new car this plane has a typically “new” smell which is a refreshing change from the normal old 747-400s that I normally fly.

ICANN – Host Sought for 2010 Europe Meeting

The objective is to routinely provide advice on locations for meetings 12 months ahead of schedule.

next generation of the internet. The council invites submissions of
applications which are based on the new internet standard of IPv6. This
way the transition to the new rules of data traffic on the internet
should take place in an efficient manner and on a large scale.
